Innovation Lead in Central and Eastern Europe
A startupper before the hype, an academic after the hype and an innovator and innovation facilitator over his life. He is responsible for the Arise Europe programme in Central and Eastern Europe. He cooperates with local and regional innovation centers (clusters, incubators, accelerators) to mobilize and vitalize the Central and Eastern European ICT innovation ecosystem, to facilitate business and to help startups and scale-ups.
“My professional history of 25 years has been divided between higher education, research and ICT business practice, in about equal parts. I see my main role as a bridge between academia and business, with a mission to bring cutting edge scientific results to the market and vice versa. I held management positions at digital companies, have written successful grant proposals (both at European and at national level), co-managed the execution of innovation projects and carried out academic assignments successfully. I co-founded a company that for four years was continuously in the first 4 on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 list of fastest growing technology companies in Hungary (scoring first in 2009), as well as ranked between the 9th and 16th in the Central and Eastern European region during this period. I submitted 15+ European project proposals and participated in the 7 successful projects (from FP6 to H2020), having co-managed 6 of them. I also had 11 successful Hungarian R&D grants, among which I co-managed 7. I have authored 70+ articles (my h-index is 11) and reviewed for 40+ international journals and conferences. I also took my part in evaluating R&D grant proposals both at national and at EC level.”
